My name is Deven Sandhu, and I'm committed to Making a Difference and ensuring that your  voice is heard on the York Region District School Board.

Like you, I want to play an active role in preparing our children to get the best possible education our public system has to offer. With the help of our teachers, I want to ensure that our children receive the best possible all round education and personal development to ensure a future filled with unlimited promise.

And I have a depth of professional and personal experience to get this done:  I was conferred with a Ph.D. In life sciences, an  MBA in Strategic Management,  ICD.D in corporate governance and I was fortunate to complete my education in different countries (Canada, England, Hong Kong, India and the United States).

I have around twenty years of professional experience in the Healthcare industry which includes academic and industrial Organizations as well as volunteer experience with several Non Profit Organizations. Most importantly I have two children who have benefitted studying in the Secondary Schools in the York Region.

Deven has lived in Vaughan for more than 19 years during which he has served the Vaughan community for four yrs as a member of City of Vaughan's Community Relations Committee (2002-2006; Vaughan), twelve years as a Trustee, Vice Chair and Chair at Vaughan Public Library Board (2006-2019; Vaughan), three years as a Director, Board of Directors at Providence Healthcare Foundation (2010-2013; Toronto) and six years as a Parent Executive Council Member, Vice-chair, Chair at one of the two best Secondary school in our province - St. Robert Catholic High School (2013-Current);  and I am avid supporter of United Way, Terry Fox and CIBC Run for Cancer Foundations

Mother Teresa reflected, "I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot; Together we can do great things"  If you share my vision, I urge you to connect with me and help make it happen! Together with all stakeholders, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and bring positive change to our current education system - for our families, our communities, and our peace loving country .
